France - Day One

Judy was concerned about the crossing under the English Channel but the longest Champagne Bar in the Northern Hemisphere solved all the concerns in advance.
We arrived in Paris (Gare du Nord) and were confronted by several large black guys who wanted to take our luggage to their vehicle. "Sure" I said, but how much to the Left Bank ?   It was only 120 Euros and told them to ****** off and found a taxi on the street.  The cost was 15 Euros so we went to a local restaurant and had a meal and a few drinks and we were still 80 Euros ahead!!!

The first photo below is us having a meal on the savings from the taxi fare.

The apartment is ok but tiny, and the Museum View is a brick wall only about 4 feet from our window.  As Mark would say, "you have to go outside to change your mind".    We should have gone back to Montparnasse ( Doug and Sheelah will remember).
