Amazing Dubrovnik.

We had to be up at 6.00 am to get a taxi to Charles de Gaulle airport - thought it best to find a taxi the night before.  We did so, got his mobile number and told him to call us at 7.30 am.  Guess what??  He rang at 6.30 to say he was out the front waiting for us and so the day started with a rush.
At the airport all OK and then after a 1.75 hour flight we were over Dubrovnik.  The plane flew low over the islands near Dubrovnik airport and did a wide sweep to the left to align with the runway.  As we came into land between the limestone hills on one side and the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea on the other provided the most incredible view.  It was breathtaking.
We are staying in the "Old City".  After a reconnoitre around the wharves we chose a seafood restaurant (there are many) to eat an early dinner (lunch on the plane was meagre).
Temp here today is 30 degrees C and perfect for sightseeing.
Tomorrow we have a tour around the top of the old wall.
On July 1 Croatia became a member of the EU and they accept both Kuna and Euros as currency.  It may take up to 3 years for the transition completely to Euros.
